News
We held our Annual Flag Day Luncheon on Thursday,June 17th at the Rochester Convention Center. Former Sheriff Andy Meloni was our master of ceremonies and he did his usual great job of mc-ing. our guest speaker was Congressional Candidate Ann Marie Buerkle. The luncheon went beautifully and we had a large crowd. Lt. Governor candidte Greg Edards paid a surprise visit. One of the highlligts of our luncheon was the beautiful voice of special guest, Jennifer DiNolfo, (daughter of County Clerk Cheryl DiNolfo) singing the Star Spangled Banner. Thanks to Jennifer for making our lunch special. All guests were entered into a drawing for an American Flag, donated by State Senator Jim Alesi.
Special Message from MCRW’s Outgoing President
I want to thank everyone on the Monroe County Republican Women’s Club for giving me the honor and privilege to serve as your president for the last four years. This past election cycle has been great for Republican Women and I know that Jeanne Carrozzi, our newly nominated president, will do an excellent job as the President of MCRW.
I also would like to mention the Blue Star Mothers servicemen’s project. If you cannot attend the Holiday Party ad would like to donate something for our men and women in the service, please call me at 865-7685 and I would be happy to make arrangements to pick up your donation. You ca also donate money to help with the shipping costs. Thanks again and remember to renew your membership when it is delivered in the mail.

Fall Foliage Cruise
Come join Monroe County Republican Women on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 1 pm to 3 pm for a fall foliage cruise on the Genesee River. This fundraiser will be held on the Harbor Town Belle. The cost is $25.00 per person. A flyer and reservation form are available by clicking here. The money we raise is used to support Republican candidates.
It is important to get out the vote and encourage others to be sure to vote in this year’s election. Debbie Drawe was recently appointed to the County Legislature and is running for election to that seat. We need to work on the County Legislature races to retain control of the legislature. Let’s work together for all Republican candidates and make a strong voice in the months ahead.
Blue Star Mothers
NY Chapter 1 of the Blue Star Mothers of America is leasing a house at the VA Medical Ceter Campus. They need help in fixing up the house to provide services to Veterans and Active Duty soldiers home on leave. The Monroe County Republican Women will be working on a project regarding this and will provide more information in the future.
If anyone has a loved one serving overseas, please give us their name and address and the Blue Star Mothers will send them a box. They ship to APO & FPO addresses and to three military hospitals in Germany, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Signed Christmas cards thanking them for their service can be included in the boxes that are shipped and would be appreciated.
NYSFRW Officer
One of our members, Bernadette Poole-Tracy is now serving as corresponding secretary for NYSFRW. The NYSFRW is celebrating 90 years of leadership during 2009.
